King Charles III Coronation Medal

I was truly honoured to be among a group 20 recipients of the King Charles III Coronation medal this Saturday August 30, 2024. The medal recognizes the tireless work of community builders such as two of our long-time community partners and fellow recipients, Friends of Parkway Forest Park's Ana Cuciureanu and the Willowdale Community legal clinic's Rola Hamdan.

It is the honour of my life to be part of an organization as special as Working Women Community Centre.  I want to take this opportunity to thank each and every member of our team of dedicated staff that work everyday to improve the lives of those who come through our doors. This recognition is for you!

A very special thanks to the Honourable Han Dong for the nomination, and a heartfelt congratulations to all the recipients!

We at the Working Women Community Centre are heartbroken by the tragic events that took place during the Lapu Lapu Day Block Party in Vancouver. Our hearts are with the victims, their families, and the entire Filipino community. No one should ever feel unsafe. We condemn violence in all its forms and reaffirm our commitment to fostering a community rooted in respect, safety, and solidarity. We offer our sincerest condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims. ο»Ώ Let’s continue to uplift and support one another.
