Program Areas

For over four decades, we have offered a wide range of important programs to help women build a new life in Canada, with the goal of ending the cycle of isolation and dependency.

Our programs provide support across five key program areas:

We provide a range of supports to newcomers that help with the transition of adjusting to life in Canada. Learning how to navigate new systems and rebuild a sense of community is never easy. Our programs and services promote community involvement and social inclusion that leads to greater independence.
Women often hold the key to their families’ well-being. So, when they are in need of a support system, we offer a safe space to chat about what’s most important. Our experienced counsellors work with clients in 1-on-1 sessions or group session formats to build a plan of support toward reaching personal goals.
Our educational programs support learning and mentorship for children and parents, providing the tools for success. Children have brighter futures and parents learn alongside their children. Cycles of disadvantage are broken when communities get the right support and access to better opportunities.

Our programming cultivates community strengths and resident engagement to foster positive change. From resident councils, ambassador initiatives and community planning tables, we encourage clients to participate in training that develops their leadership skills and builds an effective community voice.

As communities change and grow, our main priority is to provide responsive, culturally-sensitive and effective programs and services. Civic engagement programs are key to building resilient, healthy and thriving communities. With this in mind, we offer newcomers and immigrants several opportunities for community involvement and to build on their own personal networks.
