Starting a new life in Canada is never easy. For immigrant women and their families, access to better opportunities lead to better outcomes.

About WWCC

Working Women Community Centre is a women-focused settlement agency that provides support to newcomers in Toronto. Since 1974, we have been making a difference in the lives of immigrant women and their families.

Last year, we served over 9,600 clients from 4 sites across the Greater Toronto Area. Without help, many newcomers struggle with poverty and unemployment. When newcomers get the right support and have access to the right opportunities, they thrive in their communities.

Mayor Elect Olivia Chow Visits our Victoria Park Community Hub

On Wednesday July 5th, Working Women Community Centre was thrilled to welcome Toronto Mayor Elect Olivia Chow for a meeting at our Victoria Park Community Hub located in the Golden Mile. The Mayor met with members of the Inclusive Local Economic Opportunity Leadership Table lead by the United Way of Greater Toronto to discuss the dynamic initiatives taken by the table members to address and provide economic employment opportunities for local residents. Today’s discussion focused on the need for more affordable housing and the efforts of how the private sector, developers and community can come together to advance the creation of increased affordable housing in the Greater Golden Mile redevelopment.
